with Flint Aero wingtip tanks that add 32.5 gallons without sacrificing baggage space; Landoll often uses the airplane to carry parts and equipment to customers. Typical cruise fuel consumption is 20-25 gph. The maximum landing weight is 3,800 pounds, so about 30 gallons needs to be consumed after a full- gross takeoff at 4,000 pounds.Inside StoryThe Silver Eagle’s interior is far more luxurious than the typical Cessna of the 1980’s. It’s best to utilize the P210 as a four-plus-two, as the rear bench under the skylights is a couple of inches narrower than the space for the forward four chairs, and it’s also short on headroom. Don Landoll stands six-foot-three, which explains his early interest in Centurions, noted for their roomy interior. The panel is an all-new construction, normally equipped with the latest avionics to maintain the airplane’s utility. Landoll has yet to succumb to a glass retrofit, although a Garmin GNS530 and 430 are in his panel. The Allison airplane, on the other hand, is totally state- of-the-art, with a Garmin 600 suite, GTN 750 and 650 systems and an Aspen display on the right side of the panel. The Silver Eagle sports a turbine- style throttle quadrant instead of the Cessna push-pull knobs; the big power lever has finger triggers to move it from flight idle to ground idle, with a second gate for Beta range. The propeller/condition lever serves as a fuel shutoff as well as prop rpm setting. Unless supplanted by glass, a six-pack of two-inch turbine engine gauges is located to the right of the radio stack. Two (normal and standby) constant-duty fuel pumps are part of the certification package, although gravity alone will keep the engine operating under normal conditions. Pressurization controls are on the left subpanel, with a waterfall of circuit breakers on the left sidewall. The mission of the site is to provide a user- friendly communication venue between those that rescue, shelter, and foster animals; and pilots and plane owners willing to assist with the transportation of these animals.A general aviation transportrequires just one pilot volunteerand is far more efficient and dependable than time-consuming ground transportation for these animals who are often in danger of euthanization. Volunteer pilots retain complete authority of their planning and flights, and can give as much or as little time as they like.SIMPLE AS 1-2-3No bothersome paperwork required! If you love to fly, and you love animals, please join us now!
