control surfaces receive O&N’s extra strengthening and dual trim tab actuators are added. The rudder and ailerons are mass balanced. The auxiliary fuel tank is filled through a port on the right side of the fuselage. The famous Cessna tubular-strut main landing gear stows into wheel wells under the aft fuselage, while the nosegear swings forward; the gear system is hydraulically operated by an electric powerpack. The wheels can go out at 165 knots IAS, so they can be used to add drag, although the big propeller probably acts as enough of a speed brake without the gear’s help.As with the standard Pressurized Centurion, a large emergency exit on the right side of the fuselage swings up, while the normal entrance door on the left side carries a sliding storm window. The load of 3.35-psi pressurization differential is carried by an array of pins. An electrically-actuated inflatable seal is provided around the door and auxiliary exit. The Centurion’s big full-cantilever wing incorporates a massive center-section forging above the cabin that can carry loads far beyond normal expectations. The wet- wing fuel tanks hold 89 gallons of Jet-A, supplemented by another 26-gallons with the standard O&N aux tank, transferred once the main tanks are burned down.
