Several years ago, I sold a 1967 Corvette to a buyer in Arkansas. It was one of those deals where everything was done on the phone with the car being sight unseen. To conclude the deal, I offered to drive the car on the five- hour trip to its new owner.
In preparation for the delivery, I did the final detail wash, put on a fresh coat of wax, thoroughly cleaned the interior, resolved a few little annoying squeaks and hit the road.
It was the longest drive the car and I had been on for a long time. I enjoyed driving the car so much that I began to doubt my decision to sell it. I think my last minute doubts are not terribly unusual.
It seems to be a common occurrence that when we prepare something for sale we clean it up, fix the annoying little items that we have learned to live with and maybe add a little improvement or two. Ironically, we then wonder why we
