Mustang in December of that year. They both remember the event at Cessna’s Independence, Kan., facility like it was yesterday.
“A lot of people who fly this aircraft are pretty wealthy. We are not like that...this was a huge decision in our life. It was a big event to buy this airplane,” said Larry.
As for as performance, “the Mustang beats book numbers. It flies 320 knots true airspeed, and is very economical if you fly it in the high 30s. You can pretty much count on 75 gallons per hour.”

“Cessna knows how to build planes and we thought it was the safest investment that provided for our transportation needs. Also, they built this aircraft to be owner-flown. It’s ideal for people like Kelly or I who don’t fly every day for a living and could use the

aircraft safely and affordably,” Larry explained.
Kelly added, “Cessna’s strength made the decision for us. Who’s going to make it, and who can back it up? With the Embraer Phenom 100 not available yet, the Mustang was the only answer at the time.”
