Standby power generators will allow both the terminal building and fuel farm to operate while commercial lines are down; Henriksen well knows that full tanks of Jet-A are useless if you can’t pump it, so he intends to be ready to support emergency efforts as soon as the next storm is over.
There are two full-service hotels located right on the airport itself, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Residence Inn, representing $52 million in investment. A brand-new control tower will open in the first quarter of 2012 and expanded military facilities will support the U.S. Army aviation repair depot and Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center on the east side of the field.
