The 3-place rear couch AvFab offers for the 500-series Citation; the central seatback folds
Aviation Fabricators, on the other hand, builds improved or unique interior items to answer specific needs. The side-facing King Air divan is still popular, and an aft dual jump seat kit is available for the King Air 200’s rear cabin. For Cessna Citations, a three-place aft couch or a lounge-seat extension for the “jump seat” in the forward cabin can add utility to the 500-series Citations. Adding extra seats can make an airplane on a charter certificate more productive, and the increased utility enhances resale value.
AvFab’s company plane is a 90-series King Air, often serving as a fitting and demonstration device, but King Air and Citation fuselages are used as fully-outfitted mockups and display tools. As president G.R. Lowe, III, showed us in the Super King Air cabin, AvFab has retrofit pull-down window shades for the King Airs, to replace aging polarizing lenses. He also showed the lateral- tracking base for King Air seats that allows inboard movement, creating a bit more head and elbow room during flight. Other products include a side-facing three- seat divan for Nextant’s 400XT and a two-place divan for the Lear 55.
