Blackhawk Modifications, Inc. is the world leader in engine performance upgrades for the King Air 200 and 90 series, Cessna Caravan 208, Conquest I, and Piper Cheyenne I/II/IIXL. Factory-new and modern engines introduce the highest level of performance and value while increasing your aircrafts usefulness and safety margins. Blackhawk’s growing portfolio of certified engine upgrades provides aircraft operators with a spectrum of new choices that meet the various demands
of the turboprop fleet.
The Blackhawk XP42, and newly certified SuperXPR61 and SuperXP52 upgrades for the King Air 200 series boost your performance by degrees depending on your needs and each will considerably lower your operating costs. Pratt & Whitney’s stand up engine warranty is included with all factory new engines.
The Blackhawk XP135A upgrade for the King Air 90 series, Conquest I and the Cheyenne I/II/IIXL gives your aircraft up to a 50 knot speed boost (depending on airframe), sea-level takeoff performance at higher altitudes, and Pratt & Whitney’s 1000 hour, no calendar limit, engine warranty.
The Blackhawk XP42A upgrade for the Cessna Caravan 208 rockets to 850 SHP from the original 675 SHP PT6A-114A engine, with reduced takeoff distances, increased true airspeed and rate of climb, 4% Gross Weight increase, decreased time and fuel to climb and increased Maximum Range from better fuel specifics.
Blackhawk now has the capacity to overhaul and convert any PT6A-21 engine into a more powerful and efficient PT6A-28. As an additional option, King Air A90, B90 and early C90s that are equipped with the older PT6A-20/20A engines can upgrade to the XP21 upgrade and take advantage of the abundant influx of mid-life PT6A-21 engines. These additional engine options not only give the early King Air a speed increase and better high altitude performance, but a lower hot section and overhaul cost.
In addition to engine upgrades, Blackhawk also offers the new Precision Hawkeye DigiLog Gauges and Blackhawk Xtra Range Fuel Lockers. For more information about Blackhawk performance upgrades and what choice is best for you, please call Blackhawk at (254) 755-6711 or visit with a Blackhawk Authorized Distributor near you.
Arizona Type Ratings (ATR)

There are several areas that set ARIZONA TYPE RATINGS (ATR) apart from other type rating schools.
They have a unique animation program for the aircraft systems training which covers the C500 series, C525 series and the Williams FJ44 converted 500 series Citations. ATR’s 5 day initial PIC C500 or C525 courses specialize in actual aircraft flight training which they prefer to offer over simulator training. In addition, if you desire they will travel to your location.
This allows you to continue conducting business at home and they put up with the hassle travel has become. Furthermore when a client purchases a new or used Citation, an ATR instructor will travel to the delivery location and fly the plane to its new home with the owner/pilot receiving flight instruc- tion in the process. ATR’s instructors hold multiple type ratings and are seasoned jet pilots with many thousands of hours of type rating instruction. Many pilots who have earned type ratings at ATR continue receiving a 3 day recurrent training course from them year after year, frequently at the cus- tomer’s location. The value of on site training becomes evident as a convenient way to avoid traveling to a fixed location school to fly a simulator which probably does not replicate your airplane configuration. To find out more about ATR, visit them at www.arizonatyperatings.com or call Mitch Ange at 602-284-2420 or 602-614-7994.
