-Usable fuel capacity is 122 gallons, allowing it to carry 504 pounds with full tanks. If loaded up to the 4,479-pound zero-fuel weight limit, just under 50 gallons of fuel could be carried, enough for a 200- mile trip. There is a 4,513-pound landing weight restriction to be considered, however.Baggage space is split into two 100-pound compartments, one in the nose, accessed by a generous door on the left side and the other behind the rear seats, with its own flip-up door for easy loading. The club-seating cabin is reached by a door behind the left wingroot. We found it comfortable in plush cream leather, with a foldaway worktable on the right sidewall. Air conditioning vents are overhead and there’s room for a refreshment console between the middle seats.Preflight ViewThe walkaround recalled earlier Seneca experiences. The nosegear is a beefy 6.00 x 6 wheel, like the maingear; the landing gear system is operated by a hydraulic powerpack in the nose. The landing lights are located on the wingtips, where they can be used for recognition lighting without dropping the gear. A one- piece windshield is fitted.NortheastThe composite cowlings feature tight axial-flow cooling air inlets; an adjustable cowl flap is under each nacelle. Polished spinners enclose the hubs of the McCauley swept- tip three-blade props of 76-inch diameter. The Continental TSIO- 360-NB engines (technically, an LTSIO- is used on the right side) are right-sized for the Seneca V. They pump out 220-hp up to the automatic wastegate’s critical altitude, turning at a quiet 2,600 rpm for takeoff, yet they can run on 12-gph each at normal cruise settings. The air conditioner was installed on the left engine, with a pop-up door and louvers revealing its presence. The wing profile hearkens back to the earliest constant-chordMAINTENANCE• All scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance by our friendly, experienced technicians• Qualified to work on Citation, KingAir, Twin Commander, and PilatusAvionics• Legacy: partial and full glass cockpit completions• Garmin GTN650 and GTN750 installations • XM Weather, traffic and mode S upgradesAir Inc.info@northeastair.comwww.northeastair.com Portland Jetport (KPWM) MaineCRS #FTUR030E8 • TWIN & TURBINEOCTOBER 2012
