Photos & Story by Lance Phillips
In February 2013, Beechcraft still manufactured three King Air models: the 350i, 250, and C90 GTX. I happened to catch all three on the ramp at Beech Field in Wichita. At the time, I worked in the building in the background, which was built during the Raytheon years.
As with many of my other photos, I used the tiny powerhouse Sony RX100 MII for this image. The RX100 has a fixed Zeiss zoom lens with a 35 mm equivalent focal length of 28 to 100 mm. Amazingly, you have a high-quality wide-angle and a pretty long telephoto with a maximum aperture of f1.8 in a package that literally fits in your pocket when the lens is retracted.
