PerfectTwinWhen Wayne Haub, owner of H&H Color Labs again arose for a pressurized piston twin to handle thein Raytown, Missouri, upgrades an airplane,he doesn’t just give it a touch-up; he creates a showpiece. This perfectionism stems from his business, which is producing photographic images for professional photographers and helping them create true works of art. Nothing less than the finest will do in the business of manufacturing world-class images, and his company’s planes have always represented the firm’s attitude when it comes to quality.H&H has grown to support professionals in all 50 states and several foreign countries, and business aircraft have been an ingredient in its success from the very beginning. Haub’s first business airplane was a Cessna 421B he operated in the late 1980s, subsequently replaced by various turbine aircraft. When a need oncemid-range trips, he returned to his first love, buying a Cessna 421C to refurbish in early 2010. A Mitsubishi Marquise (MU-2B-60) is currently used for the longer trips and bigger loads.Phased over 16 months, the 421C project was no small undertaking. According to chief pilot Tim Stanley, H&H’s policy is to always do what’s best for the airplane, when it comes to maintenance and upgrade standards. The acquired 421C was a good example of the type, with only 2,300 hours total time and 700 hours on the engines, so it lent itself well to elevating to H&H Aviation standards.
